A SEO Tool: Check Google SERP or Position
Great news to all the website authors, publishers and bloggers. You must be scratching your head how to do search engine optimization (SEO) for your website or blog, while your competitors race to the top in the rankings of search engine. Though the topic of SEO is a huge bundle to be studied upon ( which I too am not familiar with), there are certain tools where you can do SEO.
SEO, in other words means the following in “wikipedia” terms.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site or a web page (such as a blog) from search engines via "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results as opposed to other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) which may deal with paid inclusion.
As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.
Well, I found a new tool which helps in doing this search engine optimization. This tool is called “Free Monitor for Google” brought to you by www.cleverstat.com.
Once you have written a post, article, blog on your website or blogger, you are keen to check the ranking of the page in Google for specific keywords.
One way is to type the keyword(s) in Google and search page by page, until you find your page in the Google search, if it ever happens to be there. But this is a cumbersome task. Checking page by page is a boring and hard task. But with this tool, you can enter keywords and search for ranking in Google with a click of a button. Also you can load a file containing keywords and search multiple-keywords.
The steps for working on this tool are as follows.
Download the SEO tool “Free Monitor for Google” from the following link.
You can also see some reviews on this page.
Once you download and install this tool, run the tool. You will be presented with the following screen.
1. is “Add URL”
2. is “Edit keywords”
3. is “Search”
Using “1” add your website page “URL” or website or blog “URL”.
Using “2” add some keywords.
Using “3” do a search.
After due processing you will be shown a list consisting of “Keyword”, “Position” etc. in Google.
As in the above image, when I did a search for my blog, “techlikes.com” with keyword “xmarks windows 7” it showed “Position” as 4. When you select this line, you are shown a list of Google links of your competitors and your own link, just similar to Google search engine results , minus the summary.
By default, this tool will search the top 10 results of Google. If you want to increase the search to 200, 300, 10000.. results you need to select Options —>Preferences. You will be presented with the following window.
